Monroe, LA

This is a pic of our rig while we were at Boomland at the Bernie Exit on I-55 in MO.
Arriving in the fair town of Monroe around 6 this evening. A very pleasant day of driving the weather was beautiful temps in the 70's. We left at 7 this morning. Called Judy (my sister) and they left around 5 and were staying in Palestine, TX. We plan on getting to Weslaco Sunday afternoon. Not much to comment on tonight.

Ready to GO!

Well, the time is here and I think I have everything I need for our trip. Planning on leaving around 7 in the morning. Willard and Glenda are following us down. Marv and Judy are leaving in the morning also but they are going a different route. Besides 3 trucks pulling fifth wheels would slow us all down if we all went together.
Probably Monroe, LA, will be our destination for the first night and then Victoria, TX. Will be arriving in Weslaco on Sunday. Hope I didn't forget any bills that should be paid. And of course, the dreaded taxes are paid. Looking forward to relaxing and hopefully enjoy the warm weather for a while.

tree is down

This is our youngest grandson, Eric, enjoying the wrapping paper.
The Holiday decorations are gone, the house is empty once again ...well maybe not completely. On with the next phase of life.
Took Sara and Chuck to the airport yesterday. Now to fill that void we are preparing for our journey to Texas. I guess you might call us "temp" winter Texans. Our plan is to stay just a couple of weeks.
Had a great Christmas! The best part was that everyone made it home at the same time.
Today there was a special about Alaska on the travel channel. That will be our next "big" trip. We were there in 2002.

just got home from trip to Lafayette, LA. This was 26th trip of the year delivering rvs. Some of the states we delivered to have been....OR, UT, NJ, NH, CN, WI, MN, GA, TX, LA, IA, MO, TN, VA, and Red Deer, AB. Along the way we have encountered interstate closure because of icy roads. DOT checks in WY, and break down in MS. For the most part the trips are without incidents.

December already...

Well we made it home safely. Had bad weather the entire way. What a relief to be home! (for a little while) He left this morning to pick up another trailer and then head to Louisana. Of course, stopping by here to pick me up. Christmas shopping will be at the truck stops instead of malls.
